Fine Motor Fun
(4–8 years old)

This program is for kids who have mild fine motor challenges. We use fun and playful activities to provide opportunities for kids to practice their fine motor skills such as, cutting with scissors, using cutlery, manipulating a zipper, shoe tying and even drawing skills. We will strengthen the palms and fingers, practice in-hand manipulation skills and increase our awareness to a correct body posture. Parents will be provided with practical tips to further improve their kids' skills at home.

Children need a lot of practice when it comes to establishing good handwriting habits. This unique program focuses on promoting correct (lowercase) letter formation, letter size and alignment through a fun and playful experience that involves all the senses. Special attention will be provided for: Correct pencil grasp, in-hand manipulation skills and upper body strength.
Children and parents will be given practical tips to be used at home.

Handwriting Fun
(K-G3)

Take 5
Self-Regulation for
5 year olds or Kindergarten students.

Based on the popular 'The Zones of Regulation' curriculum and other social-emotional learning curriculums, This TAKE 5 - Self Regulation program helps five year olds or Kindergarten students who struggle with mild behavioural issues and provides their caregivers with a visual system that can be implemented at home and at school. In this program kids will learn to identify in which state (zone) they are in, how their behaviour affects others' thoughts and feelings and how to adjust their behaviour when needed.

Kids will learn to identify their different emotions, body language, behaviours (expected and unexpected), their triggers, sensory needs, as well as how to use calming and cognitive strategies to adjust their behaviour. A variety of tools will be used throughout the program, including stories, short videos, games, music and more.

As we believe that change can only occur through parent-child collaboration, a weekly newsletter will be sent to parents and include the class content and effective parenting tips, for helping with the implementation of the material and techniques covered in class.

Self-Regulation Pre-Teens (11-12 years old)

Based on the popular 'The Zones of Regulation' curriculum, this program helps pre-teenage kids who struggle with emotion regulation and provides them with a visual system to help them be aware of the way they feel. Kids will learn to identify in which state (Zone) they are in, how their behaviour affects others' thoughts and feelings and how to adjust their behaviour when needed.

We will discuss individual triggers, sensory needs, as well as how to use calming and cognitive strategies to help adjust challenging behaviour. A variety of tools will be used throughout the program, including stories, short videos, games and role playing.

On Imps, Monsters and the Magical Powers

In this program kids learn a fun, humorous and non-threatening emotional tool/language that improves their self-awareness, helps them understand themselves, express themselves better, and promotes positive self-image and self-regulation. It is based on the therapeutic book A Journey to the Land of Imps and a unique set of cards, The Soul Creatures' Land, featuring different imps (unhelpful thoughts, impulses and emotional/behavioral weaknesses) and different magical powers (coping thoughts, strengths and positive traits). Each session will be dedicated to exploring certain imps and ways to control them by using the kids' magical powers.

This two hours workshop is an introduction to our program On Imps, Monsters and the Magical Powers. Kids will learn about the imps and the magical powers that reside in a land within our hearts and manage their processing of thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Kids will also explore the various magical powers of nature and what we can learn from animals, plants, rocks and water.
