Our clients usually contact us for an assessment following a referral from a developmental pediatrician, a psychologist, a teacher or another professional, when they suspect that their child is experiencing difficulties in their daily function.
As such, the OT assessment is designed to validate the existence of underlying motor, sensory processing and executive functioning challenges that impede the child's daily function, and suggest a course of action. Following the OT assessment, parents meet with the OT to discuss the assessment outcomes, recommendations for the home and school settings and whether Occupational Therapy and/or other interventions can be beneficial for their child.
Due to the time and effort required for a complete OT assessment, as well as the costs involved, KidSkills provides a range of assessment services to meet the needs and budgets of our clients.
These options include both short and comprehensive assessments, accompanied by either abbreviated or comprehensive reports.
