The treatment is strength-based, play-based and meta-cognitive and is delivered in a fun atmosphere, in order to provide the child with a supportive and emotionally safe environment that fosters a trusting relationship between the child and therapist. Children are given graded activities over the course of the treatment program in order to strengthen their feelings of success and self-efficacy and enhance their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Parents are encouraged to join the treatment sessions as they are perceived as the change agents, who will continue to support their child after the treatment is completed. As such, parents receive suggestions for activities or exercises to carry out with their child at home between treatment sessions, in order to enhance treatment outcomes. In our experience after working with dozens of families over the years, this leads to children demonstrating greater motivation to participate in the treatment sessions and the interventions yield faster results.
